A truck is a vehicle for carrying goods and materials. The word "truck" possibly derives from the Greek "trochos", meaning "wheel." In North America, the big wheels of wagons were called trucks. When the gasoline-engine driven trucks came into fashion, these were called "motor trucks." Lorry is a term from the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, but is only used for the medium and heavy types (see below), i.e. a van, a pickup or a Jeep would never be regarded as a lorry. Other languages have loanwords based on these terms, such as the Malay language and the Spanish language in northern Mexico

A trailer may be:

• Construction trailer, temporary accommodation for offices and building materials storage on construction sites
• Trailer(vehicle), an unpowered vehicle pulled by a powered vehicle
• Mobile home, a housing unit built in factories, rather than on site
• Portable classroom, a temporary classroom for schools with insufficient building capacity
• Trailer(film), an advertisement, usually in the form of a brief excerpt or string of excerpts, for a new film trailer
• Trailer(book), a short video for marketing a book
• Trailer(information technology), data appended to a main block of data to facilitate its processing
• Trailer(album), the 1994 album from the Northern Irish musical group Ash
