Foot Medicine (Podiatry)

Podiatry, Medical science concerned with study and treatment along with disorders, illnesses, and deformities of the ankle, foot, and sometimes knee, leg and hip. The range of disorders podiatry can address mainly depends on the range of practice laid down in national, state, and/or provincial jurisdiction. Podiatrists take care of common conditions as bunions, ingrown toenails and corns and calluses. They may also carry out minor surgery and set medicines or orthopedic devices. In the US a practitioner must hold a degree from a credited college of podiatry.
