Interpersonal Communication
Interpersonal CommunicationAlthough interpersonal communication can include written, oral, and nonverbal types of communication, the word is generally apply to spoken communication that takes place between two or more persons on a personal, face-to-face level. Some of the kinds of interpersonal communication that are generally used within a business organization include formal project discussions, staff meetings, employee performance reviews, and informal chats. Interpersonal communication with those outside of the business organization can take a range of forms as well, including customer meetings, employment interviews, or sales visits. In sort to recognize the principles of effective interpersonal communication, it is cooperative to look at the basic process of communication. The essential process of communication started when a fact is evaluated or an idea put together by one person. That person (the sender) makes a choice to translate the observation into a message, and then transmits the message through some communication medium to another person (the receiver). The receiver then must understand the message and give response to the sender representing that the message has been understood and suitable action taken. |
