Medical Ethics
Medical EthicsMedical ethics is mainly a field of applied ethics, the study and research of moral values and finding as they apply to medicine. As an academic discipline, medical ethics encompasses its practical application in medical settings as well as work on its philosophy, history, theology, and sociology. Medical ethics is likely to be understood barely as an applied specialized ethics, whereas bioethics come into view to have more open concerns, touching upon the philosophy of science and the analysis of biotechnology. Still, the two divisions often partly cover and the distinction is more a matter of approach than professional consensus. Medical ethics shares many main beliefs with other branches of health care ethics, like nursing ethics. |
