Education Specialists

The Education Specialist, also called as Specialist in Education, or Ed.S., is a terminal educational degree in the United States that is designed for persons who wish to develop added skills or enhance their awareness beyond the master's degree level, but do not wish to follow a degree at the doctoral level. Depending on the kind of program offering the degree, a Master's degree may or may not be a precondition for admission. In school psychology programs, for instance, the Specialist degree is often designed to pursue immediately after a bachelor's degree. Most folks who earn an Ed.S. Degree seeks to enhance their skills for higher certification requirements or other specialized objectives. For instance, experienced teachers, analysts, and (would-be) administrators may pursue an Ed.S. Degree in order to meet state or qualified requirements for career progression. Main areas available with this degree include school psychology, school counseling, and others.
