Motivation
High motivation is the solution to success in any endeavor. It may approach from within a person (inherent motivation) or from external influences (extrinsic motivation). For instance, inherent motivation is resulting from engaging in exercise for its own sake, for the approval and the sheer enjoyment it brings, and for no external reason. Those who are inherently motivated give up less easily and normally achieve higher levels of fitness than those who are solely motivated by extrinsic rewards such as esteem, wealth, and trophies. |
