Sexology
SexologySexology is the methodical research of human sexuality. It includes all characteristics of sexuality, like attempting to characterize “normal sexuality” and its variants, including paraphilias (Abnormal sexual activity). Modern sexology is a multidisciplinary field which uses the methods of fields covering biology, medicine, statistics, psychology, epidemiology, pedagogic, sociology, anthropology, and sometimes criminology to bear on its subject. It studies human sexual progress and the growth of sexual relationships as well as the technicalities of sexual intercourse and sexual malfunction. It also documents the sexuality of special groups, like handicapped, children, and elderly, and studies sexual pathologies like sex obsession and child sexual abuse. |
