Work Addiction
Work AddictionWork Addiction refers to a person who is workaholic, i.e. addicted to work. This word does not always means that the individual actually take pleasure in their work, but rather simply feels bound to do it. There is no usually accepted medical description of such a state, although some forms of stress, obsessive-compulsive character disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder can be work-related. Although the term "workaholic" generally has a negative implication, it is sometimes used by people wishing to communicate their devotion to one's career in positive terms. The "work" in question is generally connected with a paying job, but it may also refer to independent pursuits such as music, sports, art, or blogging. |
